What to watch from this year’s nominees in film and television
Next week, the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards will be in full swing, honoring the best in Korean entertainment for the past year. The ceremony is set to take place on May 13, 2021, hosted by Shin Dong-yup and Bae Suzy, and among the nominees are a lot of Metro.Style favorites, including It’s Okay To Not Be Okay and Vincenzo.

Beyond Evil
Beyond Evil follows two detectives—Lee Dong-sik and Han Joo-won—who work together to catch the killer in a murder case that changed Lee Dong-sik’s life 20 years ago. The show is nominated for Best Drama, as well as Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, so be sure to pay close attention to Shin Ha-kyun and Choi Dae-hoon’s performances! Best New Actress nominee Choi Sung Eun is also worth-watching out for.
It’s Okay To Not Be Okay
Metro.Style fave It’s Okay To Not Be Okay follows a children’s book author and a psychiatric hospital employee who meet, fall in love, and change each other together. With nominations for Best Drama and acting categories, It’s Okay To Not Be Okay is definitely one of the most talked-about shows of the past year.
My Unfamiliar Family
My Unfamiliar Family follows Kim Eun-Hee, the middle child in a “family that is slowly starting to drift apart.” She keeps her feelings hidden from them, and prefers to confide in Park Chan Hyuk, her friend from college.

In Extracurricular, a high school student turns to crime in order to afford college. He is joined by people he otherwise would never have met, as they are part of different cliques.

In the Best Film nominee Deliver Us From Evil, an assassin goes to Thailand to solve a kidnapping case, but he ends up being chased by a man for killing the man’s sibling.
Samjin Company English Class
This comedy-drama is set in 1995 and follows friends and coworkers at Samjin Company—Lee Ja-young, Jung Yoo-na, and Sim Bo-ram—who band together to learn English in order to receive a promotion to assistant manager.
Voice of Silence
