This Week in Culture: A BTS Comeback?
Everything you might’ve missed this week, April 12–16
Welcome to Metro.Style’s Culture Round-up! We bring you everything you might’ve missed this week in the entertainment world, including Lucy Liu’s newest supervillain role, a potential BTS comeback, and more!
Bridgerton has been renewed up through season four! That means we’ll get two seasons of Benedict and Colin’s love lives in the ton. However, it’s been confirmed that the debonair Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) won’t be returning for a second season.
Lucy Liu is playing a supervillain in the Shazam sequel
I was literally just telling a friend the other day that we need more female supervillains, so when the news came out about Lucy Liu’s upcoming role as the villain Kalypso in the Shazam sequel, I was floored. She is set to play Helen Mirren’s character (Hespera)’s sister.
ABS-CBN is producing a Philippine adaptation of Doctor Foster
The BBC’s award-winning drama Doctor Foster will be getting a Philippine adaptation, as BBC Studios and ABS-CBN Corporation announced a new agreement between them. Doctor Foster stars Suranne Jones, and inspired a South Korean adaptation: one of our favorite K-dramas, The World of the Married.
BTS is potentially preparing for a May comeback
Fans are convinced that BTS is preparing for a comeback, set for release on May 21. Big Hit has responded to the rumors, saying: “We reveal our artists’ plans after they are finalized,” without confirming or denying the comeback. This has fueled ARMYs’ hope of a return sooner than later. What do you think?
