After Red Velvet Wendy’s solo comes Joy’s, and she’s lined up several new tracks — all with seemingly different vibes and energies — for release on Monday, May 31. But this week, Joy released a single from her upcoming special album, a sweet little ballad called “Je T’aime.”
Timothee Chalamet as Willy Wonka
This week, it was announced that Timothee Chalamet will be starring as Willy Wonka in an origin movie directed by Paddington’s Paul King. This will be the third time the book by Roald Dahl will be adapted into a film; previous generations saw 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The much-awaited Friends reunion has arrived! The stars of the popular 90s sitcom reunited to talk and gab about their characters, from retrospectives to where they see them now. The affair also features guest appearances by BTS, Tom Selleck, Maggie Wheeler, and more.
Jo Koy sitcom in development
Filipinos and Filipino-Americans may finally get the representation they’ve always needed in American television. Stand-up comedian Jo Koy is developing Josep for ABC, which he will star in and executive produce. According to Deadline, “the ABC half-hour sitcom, which is currently in development, will follows the life of a hardworking Filipino American nurse. Written and executive produced by showrunner Steve Joe, Josep will also see its titular character navigating dating, fatherhood, and his mother moving in with him.

Song Joong-ki revenge drama
Still not over the Vincenzo finale? Song Joong-ki’s next project may just do it for you: He’s currently in talks to star in another revenge drama, based on a web novel called “Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son.” The story revolves around someone “who was killed after being framed for embezzlement by a chaebol family who he was loyal to for over 10 years. He is reborn as the youngest son of the chaebol family and plans revenge as he works to gradually take over.”
Billboard Music Awards
This week kicked off with the Billboard Music Awards! Did you catch BTS grooving to their newest song, “Butter”? The band won all four awards they were nominated for — Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Social Artist, and Top Selling Song! Other notable wins were The Weeknd, who took home 10 trophies, as well as Bad Bunny and Pop Smoke.
La Casa de Papel, Part 5
The end of the heist is approaching—part five of the iconic Netflix series Money Heist will be released in two volumes on September 3 and December 3 this year. “Just when it seems like nothing else could go wrong,” the synopsis reads, “an enemy comes on the scene that is much more powerful than any they’ve faced: the army. The end of the greatest heist in history is approaching, and what began as a robbery will turn into a war.”
