"Under Parallel Skies" to Stream on Netflix This October
The buzzworthy cross-country romance film, which explores the lasting impact of fleeting connections, will finally be available for streaming
Win Metawin and Janella Salvador's cross-country romance film Under Parallel Skies is set to start streaming on Netflix worldwide, except certain territories, this October 24.
The buzzworthy film, directed by Sigrid Bernardo, follows the story of a Thai bachelor named Parin (Win) who travels to Hong Kong in search of his missing mother. He encounters a Filipino hotel receptionist named Iris (Janella), who helps him navigate love, heartbreak, and healing in the foreign city.
Richard Juan, the film’s executive producer and CEO of 28 Squared Studios, believes the film will resonate among audiences across the world. He says, "It speaks of universal themes that everyone can relate to—love, identity, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. It’s these shared experiences that allow us to connect, regardless of where we come from."
Under Parallel Skies is only the beginning for 28 Squared Studios and the film outfit is looking forward to telling more stories that celebrate the richness of human experiences across different cultures.
The film will stream on Netflix globally beginning October 24 except Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan. Prior to its streaming release, the movie had its theatrical run in 13 countries and territories. It was also the first romance film from the Philippines distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
The film had its world premiere in March as one of the programs of the prestigious 17th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong.
