Everything You Need To Know About The Kapamilya Channel
It’s a 24-hour channel that airs programs that have been produced or acquired by ABS-CBN
Since ABS-CBN was given a cease-and-desist order by the National Telecommunications Commission early last May, its main channel—along with many of its shows—have gone off the air, shifting operations and broadcast online. News and public affairs programs like TV Patrol and DZMM Teleradyo found an audience in their daily livestreams on YouTube and ABS-CBN’s Facebook.
On June 13, the Kapamilya Channel launched. It’s a 24-hour channel that airs programs that have been produced or acquired by ABS-CBN. It is available to subscribers of Sky Cable, Cable Link, and GSAT Direct TV, as well as members of the Philippine Cable & Telecommunications Association and other local cable and satellite TV providers nationwide.
Through it, viewers can watch returning shows like It’s Showtime, ASAP, Magandang Buhay, Love Thy Woman, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, and A Soldier’s Heart. Newer shows, including The World of A Married Couple, will also be showing on it. Aside from television series, there will also be movies: Kapamilya Blockbusters selections airing on weekdays and Kapamilya Action Sabado on the weekends, and more.
These shows are also available through iWant—both on the app and the website, and the shows on YouTube and Facebook, like TV Patrol and Magandang Buhay, will continue to stream live on those platforms.
Unfortunately, shows like Make It With You starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil will not return. Liza announced it on her Instagram account last week.
