'The Lord of the Rings' Cast Reunites for an Important Quest
The one cast reunion to rule them all! Tune in on Sunday as The Fellowship joins Josh Gad’s ‘Reunited Apart’ series. You don't want to miss this!
Director Peter Jackson brought to life J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings close to two decades ago, giving us a way to experience the world of Middle-earth which we will never forget. The movie was the first in a trilogy that created waves in entertainment, leaving a lasting impact on pop culture, and has us missing Frodo Baggins and friends every day since.
The Fellowship comes together once more, with The Lord of the Rings cast reuniting for actor Josh Gad’s quarantine series, Reunited Apart. Gad released a trailer on his YouTube channel for the upcoming reunion and it has us giddy with excitement. The trailer shows Samwise (Sean Astin), Frodo (Elijah Wood), Merry (Dominic Monaghan), Pippin (Billy Boyd), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), and Gandalf (Sir Ian McKellen).
The Lord of the Rings reunion is airing on Sunday, May 31, at 9:00 am PST/Monday or, if you’re in the Philippines, June 1 at 12:00 am PHT. Be ready for surprises! Dominic Monaghan kind of teased more cast members participating, posting this screencap on his Instagram on Wednesday.
In addition to the cast members we saw in Gad’s trailer, you can spot Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Boromir (Sean Bean), Gollum (Andy Serkis), Eomer (Karl Urban), Eowyn (Miranda Otto), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), and Arwen (Liv Tyler). Director Peter Jackson makes an appearance too, writer Philippa Boyens next to him.
What a line-up! We can’t wait to reunite with the LOTR crew this weekend, and for a great cause. Like the other installments of Reunited Apart, this one will be for the benefit of Disaster Philanthropy.
