‘The Old Guard’ Starring Charlize Theron Premieres on Netflix This July 10

Based on the graphic novel by Greg Rucka, The Old Guard stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, and Van Veronica Ngo, with Matthias Schoenaerts and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

A covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have been fighting to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team, led by a warrior named Andy (Theron) is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to her and Nile (KiKi Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power.

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, The Old Guard is described to be a “gritty, grounded, action-packed story” that shows living forever is harder than it looks.  

The Old Guard premieres on Netflix on July 10.
