The American disaster film nabbed the third-biggest opening of 2024 in the US with a sensational<strong> $80.5-million</strong>. It premiered in Philippine cinemas last July 17. </p><div><br/></div><p>Directed by Oscar nominee <strong>Lee Isaac Chung</strong>, <em>Twisters</em> is the standalone sequel of the 1996 blockbuster film <font face="Georgia-Italic"><i>Twister</i></font>. Fast forwarding to the present, director Chung is thrilled to be part of <em>Twisters</em>, the current-day chapter of the 90s blockbuster. “When the producers came to me to direct this new chapter, I was truly honored and terrified to make the transition into tentpole, summer blockbuster territory.
