ICYMI: “Where Your Eyes Linger,” A Korean BL Drama, Is Now Available Online

Fall in love with the story of Han Tae-joo and Kang-gook in this fresh Korean boys love series!

With Pride month still in full swing, the steadfast popularity of the Boys Love, or BL, on television has become more relevant than before. The genre, which finds its roots in Japan decades ago, has built a strong fanbase from its origin to other Asian countries like China, Taiwan, and Thailand. Fast forward to present, its reach is going global—with more and more people taking notice of the charming treatment to this type of narrative.

Recently, it seems like South Korea is preparing to ride the BL wave, as well! The BL fan community has raved about the fresh release of the first Korean BL series, broadcasted on Viki a few weeks ago. The show, called Where Your Eyes Linger, tells the tale of 18-year-old high school students, one an heir to a chaebol family and the other his bodyguard, who discover their hidden feelings for each other.

The compelling story of the lead characters Han Tae-joo and Kang-gook, played by Produce X 101 alum Han Gi-chan and rookie actor Jang Eui-soo, respectively, is equal parts emotional and endearing. The journey to the revelation of their romantic feelings towards each other still carries the same tropes of K-dramas—the love triangle conflict, friendship issues, and rejection and disapproval—but offered in a different light.

Whether you’re new to the whole BL craze or have been into it for a while, any Korean drama-loving viewer would get hooked to this show as much as you do with other dramas you’ve seen! Where Your Eyes Linger is an easy-to-watch series, with eight episodes that run for just around 10 minutes. Apart from its interesting plot, the main cast are equally as attractive, with Han Gi-chan and Jang Eui-soo joined by other up-and-comers Choi Kyu-ri and Jeon Jae-young.
