Recap: Warner Music PH's Listening Party for Coldplay's "MOON MUSiC"
The band’s newest record has arrived and we feel like falling in love with it!
British rock band Coldplay has released their 10th studio album, Moon Musc, and Metro.Style heard it first before its global release during an exclusive listening party by Warner Music Philippines.
The event was held in Kas & Poly in Taguig last October 3, a day before the highly-anticipated album landed in stores and on streaming services.
If you attended Coldplay’s most recent Philippine gig at the Philippine Arena, you would be familiar with jikamarie, the Filipino singer who opened for the band during their Music of the Spheres Bulacan show.
At the listening party, the rising star performed her own material including her single “lutang” as well as a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You.”
When asked to recount her experience as Coldplay’s opening act during their Philippine show, the singer described the performance as magical: “When I entered the arena, it was so magical, I don’t know kung energy niyo ba 'yung lahat, but I was so, so happy, and honored!”
After the opening set, the Moon Music started playing. The listening party gave the fans an exclusive first listen to the band’s newest album. From the opening title track “MOON MUSiC,” to the final track “ONE WORLD,” Warner Music played the album in its entirety.
Just like their previous album, Moon Music sounds like a sequel to the Spheres album, hence its full title Music of the Spheres Vol. II: Moon Music.
The songs sound like an immersive experience into the outer space: instrumental-driven tracks particularly the opening song and “Alien Hits/Alien Radio” which is stylized as a rainbow emoji.
Crowd favorites were the album’s first single “feelslikeimfallinginlove,” “iAAM,” “GOOD FEELiNGS,” an upbeat track featuring Nigerian singer Arya Starr.

After finishing the 10-track set, Warner Music Philippines surprised the listeners with an exclusive voice message from the band’s frontman Chris Martin.
“I never really know but I think this album is about a response to struggling with all the conflict within oneself, within myself, and also the conflict outside. And working at what the best response is and I think what moon is trying to say is our love is the best response,” says Chris on what their new album is all about.
WATCH Coldplay perform the album’s second single “WE PRAY” with collaborators Elyanna, Little Simz, Burna Boy, and TINI:
After finishing the listening session, the fans got to enjoy dancing and singing to Coldplay’s greatest hits.
