Marina Summers told us, 'the best is yet to come,' and you know she delivered!

The internationally-renowned Filipina drag artist has released her debut single with Tarsier Records yesterday, November 4. Inspired by heavenly bodies and the LGBTQ+ community, 'Divine' speaks of taking ownership of one's individuality—celebrating it even. The dance-pop anthem was written by Marina and was produced by multi-awarded producer Moophs—and is only the first of a body of work that the artist will be releasing under Tarsier Records.

'Right now, there’s not much drag music out in the market. And as we know, music is an essential part of story telling for drag. And I think it’s high time for us to tell our stories through our own songs,' says Marina on 'Divine' Tarsier Records

On 'Divine', Marina shared: “Ultimately I was very inspired to make a new dance anthem that the queer community can claim as theirs. I’ve always wanted to champion queer talent wherever I go. Right now, there’s not much drag music out in the market. And as we know, music is an essential part of story telling for drag. And I think it’s high time for us to tell our stories through our own songs. This track is very inspired by heavenly bodies and how almost all people worship them. And as a queer person living in a Catholic/Christian country, it’s the other way around. The LGBTQ+ community has always been condoned and deemed to be “sinners” for just being queer alone. Divine speaks about taking ownership and power of your body and individuality.”
