Josh Groban Has a New Album Coming Out In November
“Harmony” features duets with Broadway stars Sara Bareilles and Leslie Odom Jr.
Last week, Josh Groban announced that a new album from him was forthcoming. Harmony, which will be out on November 20, features some of his “favorite songs in the universe,” which includes “Both Sides Now,” “The Impossible Dream,” “She,” and “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face.”
He began working on the album before quarantine started, he told TheaterMania. “My last album was all original music. I wanted to do another album like I had done with Stages, that had songs that I’ve loved for a long time, with gorgeous melodies and incredible arrangements,” he said.
“I always knew that this was going to be an album of classic songs, but when I went into quarantine, I found myself at the piano a lot,” he added. “There were two songs I wrote that felt relevant today, so even though they’re not in that genre of classic songs, I felt like they needed to come out now.”
He duets several tracks on the album, including “Both Sides Now” with Sara Bareilles and “Shape of My Heart” with Hamilton’s Leslie Odom Jr. Two of the songs—“Your Face” and “The Fullest”—are original compositions written over the past few months.
