Kiana V’s ‘Dazed’ is Dreamy, Wistful, and Raw
“I wrote it at a time when I felt like I needed to re-introduce myself to myself,” she says
The past year, for many, has been a year of both soaring highs and deep, dark lows.
For Kiana V, whose new song "Dazed" came out today, it’s no different.
Like many of us, she had to go through revelations and discoveries throughout the pandemic, the past year of loss, strength, and resilience.
The song, she said at an intimate gathering yesterday with Kiana’s inner circle, is about that “push and pull that you go through internally when you’re trying to achieve inner healing.”
“It’s definitely a song I wrote at a time when I didn’t know who I was,” she said. “I wrote it at a time when I felt like I needed to re-introduce myself to myself.”
The song—a dreamy, moody chillout track—was written by Kiana and produced by Jesse Barrera, and accompanies a movement visual choreographed and directed by Shayna Cua.
"Dazed" is wistful and raw, wonderfully showcasing Kiana's voice and making it the perfect vehicle for the emotions fueling it.
Watch the premiere of Kiana’s movement piece set to her newest song tonight at 9 p.m. on her YouTube channel.
