Marina Summers, internationally-renowned Filipina drag artist, launched her newest single produced by Moophs under Tarsier Records “Divine” last Sunday, November 6th at Empty Stomach Cafe & Lounge Bar, Taguig—and of course, all the sinners came forth to be cleansed.

Fans packed the venue in support of the drag artist while Zion Aguirre opened the event with a live performance, followed by Drag Playhouse PH queens ØV CÜNT, Prince, and Eva Le Queen, who each gave outstanding lip sync performances of songs with the theme "divine" prominently displayed. During a quick kiki sesh after each performance, the queens gushed about their drag sister, Marina, while sharing short anecdotes about how they met the queen.

After, Moophs was called onto the stage to speak about “Divine” and what it was like working with Marina. He stated that ever since recording with the queen during "Pop-Off Ate", he's been wanting to work with her and finally being able to do so has been a dream come true.

In an interview with Marina, when asked about the meaning behind “Divine”, she states: “It’s about sex positivity and basically, we want people to worship drag and drag queens. We want an anthem for the people of the drag community to claim ‘I'm divine, worship me. Worship the drag queens!’ [because] we’re here to take over the world.”

On working with Moophs, she shared: “It’s a very, very collaborative effort between me and Moophs, and what I like about Tarsier records is that they let me steer the wheel on where I want to take my music – they let me take full control of the creative process and everything. All the writing was done by me and it was transcended to the beats made by Moophs, and yeah, we created magic!”

Of course, with Marina serving us a little teaser at the end of the “Divine” music video, we were bound to ask: what’s next for Marina Summers? The queen answered: “As of now, I’m very focused on championing queer excellence in terms of the music industry.” She adds, “You have to wait and see [what’s next] because we’ve been working on this whole thing for nine months now and we have a lot of things planned out. As of now, we want people to really glorify “Divine” and if there’s more music then why not? If there’s an album, why not? If there’s, I don’t know, a tour maybe? Why not, right? But yeah, we’re so excited to see how this goes in the future and how this music career blooms for the drag community.”
