How To Watch All The 'Avengers' Movies In Chronological Order

Following the explosive events at Avengers: Infinity War, the post-credits hinted at the arrival of Captain Marvel, and we have been anxiously waiting since. This week, Marvel is finally releasing the first Captain Marvel film, starring Brie Larson. Set in 1995, the movie goes back in time to Captain Marvel’s origin story.

Since 2008, Marvel has released over 20 films telling the stories of the many superheroes and ultimately building up towards the pinnacle battle to take place in Avengers: Endgame, coming out in April. Most of the movies take place in present day, but were not released in chronological order. If you need a refresher and want to binge-watch all the movies before seeing the new ones, this list will show you how to follow the MCU timeline.

Although not the first movie released in this franchise, Captain America’s origin story takes place during WWII when Steve Rogers is used as a test subject for an experiment.

When Thor’s brother, Loki gets a hold of an energy cube that threatens Earth, S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits a team of superheroes, bringing Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye all together for the first time to form the Avengers.
