Ballet Philippines Is Sharing The Magic With Children And Men In Uniform This Holiday Season
This year, the dance institution brings back the magic of Christmas not just to regular ballet audiences but also to public school children and individuals from underserved communities
The holiday season brings with it countless opportunities to spread love and joy to those around us. Ballet Philippines is going beyond bringing back the magic of Christmas not just to fans of ballet, but also to public school children and individuals from underserved communities.
SHARE THE MAGIC is a CSR program initiated by Ballet Philippines. Through this initiative, the company has managed to share the magic of dance to over 10,000 beneficiaries. This includes, among many others, DepEd SPED, Girls Scouts of the Philippines, Open School of Music, Pag-Asa Foundation, and Concordia Children’s Foundation. Since it was first launched, Share The Magic has helped to uplift spirits and bring inspiration to those whose minds are in their formative years.
The program also extends to MEN IN UNIFORM, this unique program honors gallant men and women in uniform by treating them to an evening of art, dance, and culture. As defenders of our country, Ballet Philippines pays homage to the dedication and courage of our men and women in the military, navy and air force.
Family members and loved ones of these everyday heroes are also welcomed into the theater, making a special occasion out of the ballet. Ballet Philippines is the only dance company today, to pay tribute to our men and women in service through the arts.
Ballet Philippines President and CEO Kathleen Liechtenstein shares, “Performance art forms like the ballet goes beyond entertainment and culture. We also believe that this art form is a means for us to help heal and reach out to the less fortunate. Through our Share The Magic Program and Men In Uniform we embrace and open our doors to a larger audience giving them the complete Christmas magic experience. It is our hope that this simple act of bringing them to the ballet—even for just two hours—will fill them with joy and inspiration.”
As 2022 marks the company’s return to the grand stage, so too does Share The Magic and Men In Uniform. During the performance of Ballet Philippines' The Nutcracker this December, the theater doors open to welcome beneficiaries from Young Focus, Kythe Foundation, Teach for the Philippines, and PHINMA Foundation.
