You Can Now Watch Harry Potter While A 50-Piece Orchestra Performs Its Score Live!
If you grew up loving the Harry Potter series, whether by page or by screen, chances are the first few notes of Hedwig’s Theme is enough to transport you back into Harry’s wonderful world of magic, witchcraft, and wizardry. Music is an essential part of the cinematic experience—can you imagine any momentous, pivotal moment in film without swelling orchestral music? Maybe so, but where’s the fun in that?
On September 14 & 15, Filipino fans of the expansive book and film franchise Harry Potter can treat themselves to a night of John Williams’ iconic music through the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. Audiences can watch the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on a 40-foot screen in high-definition while hearing an orchestra perform the film’s beautiful and memorable score live.
The ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert, conducted by Gerard Salonga. This live-to-picture concept is devised by CineConcerts, a leading producer of live music experiences performed with visual media. Their debut production in the Philippines was Call Me By Your Name in Concert in October 2018 which marked the first Hollywood film concert in the Philippines.
CineConcerts has produced live film concerts of movies such as Gladiator, The Godfather, It’s a Wonderful Life, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage 50th Anniversary Concert Tour, and films from DreamWorks Animations.
