Maserati Philippines Launches Its 2018 Lineup of Luxury Cars

The complete 2018 Maserati lineup

Maserati Philippines recently launched their 2018 lineup at the swanky Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La hotel at The Fort. The prodigious size of the hotel’s ballroom was perfect for the unveiling event.

Upon entering the space, guests immediately saw that more than half of the ballroom is covered with a huge white curtain, which served as a backdrop and movie screen for the interactive presentations of Maserati.

Guests were ushered into the space, eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the new models from the famed Italian luxury car brand. Wines were served (both reds and whites), and as befitting of the brand’s heritage, guests were also made to try famed Italian beer Peroni.

Even before the unveiling of the new models, the visitors were treated to a rare car displayed at the center of the event space, a fully-restored 1956 Maserati. The bright yellow color of the car was striking, and a definite eye-catcher.

Formula Sports Inc. big boss Wellington “Willie” Soong was present at the event, and didn’t fail to note the beautiful contrast of the old and new cars highlighted at the event.

“From the deepest bottom of my heart, a personal and sincere appreciation to everyone for making time to make this evening memorable. Also, I’m sure you’ve all been wondering what this beautiful car is in front of us in the place of honor. Well, it’s a 1956 Maserati, owned by our special guest tonight Mr. Ramon Diaz,” said Wellington. The big boss then highlighted the timeless nature of the Maserati brand, and how it can still be relevant and game-changing, even after all the years Maserati is in the business.

Other VIPs in the event included the Italian Ambassador himself, Giorgio Guglielmo, and Maserati Regional Sales Manager Filippo Caracciolo. After the toasts and repartees from the host and VIPs, the much-awaited unveiling of the Maserati 2018 lineup ensued.

A brief video of the Maserati brand was first projected into the massive cloth curtain covering the other half of the space. After the video, the curtains were lifted, with much music and fanfare, to reveal the new models. Laser lights were cunningly projected into the outlines of the cars, creating a techno/sci-fi like theme to the unveiling.

Headlining the 2018 model year lineup is the restyled GranTurismo. The GranTurismo model is the latest Maserati designed by Pininfarina and was launched in 2007. Two variants of the Ghibli was also unveiled, the GranLusso and the GranSport.

The 2018 SUV variant of Maserati, called the Levante, was also revealed in the event. The classic Maserati Quattroporte was also displayed, and so was the GranCabrio.

After the unveiling, guests were treated to more wines, champagnes, and Shang’s excellent canapés. A fitting end and salute to this famed luxury brand. Car aficionados and Maserati fans indeed have a lot of reasons to be giddy this 2018.
