This Summer Camp Will Be Conducted By Notable Experts—Sign Up Your Child Now!

One of the perennial issues facing parents this time of the year is what their children can do during Summer. The vacation season is just around the corner; while it's still early, if you're not heading for a long trip abroad, it’s best to be thinking about this and enroll them in workshops or programs before the slots are all filled. And no, it isn’t just about getting them out of the house and making them productive while on holiday, it can also be about discovering what inclination or talent they may have, and most importantly, nurturing that even at a tender age.

For those with children between the ages of six and 11, Promil Four is back with its i-Shine 7 Talent Camp, which will run from April to May. For its seventh year, two new additional camps are added to give parents and their kids more exciting options. To make things better, the camps will not only be administered in different cities around Metro Manila, but also in Batangas, Cebu, and Davao.

This is all part of Promil’s philosophy and vision to emphasize the fact that proper nutrition should go hand in hand with proper parenting and guidance, to fully support a child’s proper growth and mental development. It’s part of a mission to help parents discover and develop their children's talents and passions, providing the means to nurture the gift via mental, physical and social stimulation workshops.

This 2019 edition boasts of an impressive lineup of camps and mentors, including National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab (Music Camp), Teacher Georcelle Dapat-Sy of the G-Force Dance School (Dance Camp), Robert Alejandro & Kara Escay of Papemelroti (Art Camp), Audie Gemora (Theatre Camp), and Lisa Macuja-Elizalde (Ballet Camp). The Theatre and Ballet Camps are new offerings.

During the launch held at Maybank Performing Arts Theatre, Dimples Romana introduced the mentors and their camps, and set the tone by bringing onstage two wonderful speakers. First was Dra. Leticia Peñano-Ho, the President of the Philippine Center for Gifted Children, who spoke about discovering, recognizing, encouraging and nurturing the gifted child. She also tackled the importance of documenting the child’s journey and just how integral it is to helping them develop their skills.

She was followed by Shaira Luna, noted professional photographer and former Promil Kid herself, who gave an impromptu mini-workshop with photography tips as part of her Creative Documenting & Scrapbook-Making Workshop. Especially cute was how Shaira displayed photos and clippings her own mother had collated while she was a Promil Kid.

To have your children interact with these mentors and possibly discover and develop their talents and passions in the process is an opportunity that is simply too hard to resist.
