Want To Have A Dog or A Cat? Here’s A New Way To Get One!

Founded in 2000 by a group of animal lovers, Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA) Welfare Philippines is a non-profit and non-government organization that rescues animals from precarious situations through various initiatives.

With its mission devoted to caring for the animals and “making spay/neuter the most effective and humane way to control the population of the street animals,” the organization continuously spearheads nationwide initiatives to promote compassion for animals.

CARA introduced a new way to adopt fur-babies. You simply browse through their website’s gallery of dogs and cats and choose a pet you’d like to adopt.

CARA takes pride in their projects such as Trap/Neuter/Return as the most humane and effective method to control the fast-growing cat population in the cities. They also help animals who are victims of calamities. In 2009, they were able to help communities in Montalban and Dela Costa when they were struck by Typhoon Ondoy.

According to their site, the organization was able to spay and neuter 14,011 cats and 543 dogs from 2006 to 2015. Can you imagine how much the numbers have grown because we just welcomed a fresh year?

Apart from these projects, CARA is open to volunteers who share the same advocacy and have a big heart for animals. If you are interested, application forms can be downloaded from their website.
