<p>The <strong>Grand Dame of Philippine Fashion</strong> returns to the runway with <strong><em>Filipiniana Is Forever</em></strong>, a 100-piece collection that distills five decades of artistry, activism, and national pride. The collection is both a continuation and a culmination of her lifelong devotion to Philippine textiles&mdash;<em>pi&ntilde;a</em>, <em>jusi</em>, and tropical linens&mdash;crafted by the hands of women she has long empowered.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17621506362815.png" style="width: 1000px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib"></div><p>The inspiration behind the show, <strong><em>Halik sa Batok</em></strong>, came from a subtle gesture: the nape revealed by the fold of the <em>baro&rsquo;t saya</em>. &ldquo;The nape or <em>batok</em> is one of the sexiest areas of a woman&#39;s body,&rdquo; she says. &ldquo;Just like the Japanese even paint that area on the geisha.&rdquo; This sensual detail anchors a collection that moves from everyday <em>dasters</em> to formal Maria Clara gowns, hand-painted barongs, and kimono jackets inspired by Freddie Mercury. Ninety-five percent of the collection is handmade&mdash;a testament to the enduring beauty of craft in an age of speed and technology.</p><div><br></div><div>Her partnership with the Zonta Club of Alabang aligns naturally with her own philosophy. &ldquo;I appreciate and uphold this women&#39;s group for their focus on upholding values and livelihood in our society,&rdquo; she says.
