Known for treating fashion as a cultural documentation, Avel approached the SEA Games not as a branding exercise but as a project rooted in heritage and movement. His collection. titled “<strong>Laro ng Lahi</strong>”, features a striking lineup of barongs, trousers, and vests. The barong is made from <em>piñavel</em>, a hybrid textile developed from bamboo, pineapple, abaca, banana, and water hyacinth fibers.
