As 2026 approaches, fashion is moving away from excess and toward intention—better cuts, smarter purchases, and a stronger sense of personal style. My bag is often big and full of tools for content creation (camera, laptop, tablet, tripod, sketchbook, watercolors) but not everything is necessary every day. There’s something chic about loving the pieces you currently own and giving them the love and care they deserve to last through time.</p><div><br/></div><p>A pro tip on not making your pieces seem boring when worn repetitively is <u>investing in classics</u> that are not necessarily expensive but of quality. These days, more local brands are becoming more accessible and wearable for everyday, not just for special occasions.</p><p>2. <u>Invest more on classic pieces and/or elevated basic</u>, less on trendy pieces. I want to spend more on pieces I can wear for a long time.</p><p>3. <u>Be more intentional</u> in buying clothes. I was surprised by how many clothes I have and the number of pieces I don’t get to wear. I let go of many of them, sorted for garage sale. And so, my fashion resolutions for 2026 are:</p><div><br/></div><p>Significantly <u>limit shopping for new clothes</u>. I didn’t realize I have many basic and statement pieces I can just restyle and mix and match, enough to get me through another year.  </p><div><br/></div><p>I will be more <u>organized</u> with my clothes. So my resolution this year is to <u>find my new signature style</u>, but creatively, <u>without having to buy a whole new wardrobe</u>.</p><div><br/></div><p>I began by picking up some <u>vintage pieces</u> from my mom and lola&#x27;s closets (luckily we&#x27;re all the same size)—coats, trousers, bags, shoes, earrings, etc. I then choose to buy judiciously a few pieces a month just to see how it goes. I seem to be leaning towards relaxed, minimalist pieces but occasionally love a pop of color and pattern. I&#x27;m in the market for good leather loafers and the perfect work bag!</div><p>2. <u>Invest on jewelry</u><strong></strong>. I’ve been slowly building my jewelry collection since last year, and I’d like to continue by investing in a pair of small diamond earrings that I can wear every day. For me, a good investment is something you can wear for years and years.</p><p>3. <u>Edit my closet every quarter</u>. The secret to an effective wardrobe is discipline. If something doesn&#x27;t resonate anymore, thank it and let it go. </p>
