Metro Exclusive: The Rebirth Of Gucci With Demna Gvasalia’s ‘Primavera’

<p>Stepping into the proverbial moccasins of the heritage house, <strong>Demna Gvasalia</strong> ushers <strong>Gucci</strong> into a new era of sensual provocateur with his debut runway collection staged in the Palazzo delle Scintille at <strong>Milan Fashion Week</strong>. Witnesses to this birth of a new era include <strong>Anne Curtis-Smith</strong>, aespa’s <strong>Ningning</strong>, <strong>Gulf Kanawut</strong>, and <strong>Cocona</strong> of XG as well as <strong>Demi Moore</strong>, <strong>Donatella Versace</strong>,<strong> </strong>and Gucci&#x27;s former Creative Director<strong> Alessandro Michele</strong>. In his exploration of “The Gucciness of Gucci,” he finds its past and its present at a nexus of personification: “I see Gucci as a person. From garments that reflect necessary intimacy, audiences are moved into silhouettes and textures that may supplement a sharp, routine beauty to their closets. Key pieces aside from the skinny shapes are fur embellishments on jackets and turtlenecks to break the monotony of stripped silhouettes. The emblematic <strong>G</strong><strong>ucci Diamante</strong> also shines as an accessory printed on a variety of accessories. The <strong>Gucci Bamboo</strong> bag and <strong>Giovanni</strong> and <strong>Cupertino</strong> loafers are also updated to affect soft, sleek and supple subtleties. Perhaps most iconic of all however, is <strong>Kate Moss </strong>closing out the show in a backless gown that exposes a GG thong bedazzled with 10-carats of diamonds.
