A Big Shift Is Coming To Zara With Its New Creative Lead

<p>British fashion designer <strong>John Galliano</strong> is joining <strong>Zara</strong> for a two-year creative partnership. The former Dior and Maison Margiela designer will “deconstruct and reconfigure” designs from Zara’s 50 year old archive, by reissuing them using new materials in a process the company described as “re-authoring”. </p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1773827006917[image] - 3041098.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner">Photo Courtesy from Zara</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>This creative partnership marks a new step in the Spanish retailer’s move upmarket. Over the past few years Zara has responded to the times by introducing more fashion-forward and higher-quality pieces, along with investing in more premium store experiences in the hopes to capture customers who want something between mass market and luxury.</p><div><br/></div><p>John is stepping in with his high fashion expertise. As a showman and a storyteller, the British designer is known for weaving grand fashion narratives. He blended his signature flair with Margie’s deconstructed aesthetic.
