DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Fashion Review

<p>Working in fashion means I’m constantly documenting what’s happening around me. At Fashion Week, I’m capturing the runway from my seat, getting close-ups of the clothes, and shooting quick moments in between shows. During celebrity interviews, I need something I can set up quickly without making the conversation feel overly produced. Then there are events, launches, backstage access, street style, and all the spontaneous moments that end up becoming content.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17849494533366.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>I’ve used cameras from the DJI Osmo line for these kinds of situations, particularly because they’re small enough to carry around without adding another bulky piece of equipment to my already packed schedule. The new <strong>DJI Osmo Pocket 4P </strong>feels like a significant upgrade to that experience.</p><p>At 230 grams, it’s still compact enough to bring almost anywhere, but DJI has packed in a dual-lens camera system, a new 1-inch CMOS sensor, 3-axis mechanical stabilization, ActiveTrack 8.0, and video capabilities reaching 4K/240fps.</p><p>For a fashion editor, that opens up more ways to shoot the details I’m constantly looking for: the movement of a dress on the runway, a close-up of an accessory, the way a celebrity’s look photographs in natural light, or even a quick portrait between interviews.</p><p>And you certainly don’t have to be a fashion editor to make use of it. If you create fashion, beauty, travel, food, or lifestyle content, a lot of the Pocket 4P’s features are designed around the way we shoot content now: quickly, vertically, on the move, and often without a full production team.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17849494617565.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>Here are 10 things we love about the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P:</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>1. Two Lenses Give You More Ways to Frame Fashion</strong></div><p>The biggest addition is the dual-lens system. There’s a 20mm-equivalent wide-angle main lens for capturing full looks, environments, and wider scenes, alongside a 60mm med-tele lens that gets you closer to your subject.</p><p>For fashion week, that versatility makes sense. You can establish the atmosphere of the venue with the wide lens, then switch perspectives to focus on a model, accessory, or runway detail without having to physically move closer.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>2. The 60mm Lens Is Made for Beautiful Portraits</strong></div><p>The new 60mm med-tele lens has an f/1.8 aperture and supports 3× optical zoom and up to 12× zoom. The focal length also creates a more compressed background and natural separation between the subject and their surroundings.</p><p>Think celebrity portraits, beauty details, OOTDs, or a quick street-style moment outside a show. It gives portraits a more polished look straight from a camera you can carry in your pocket.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>3. A 1-Inch Sensor Helps When the Lighting Gets Tricky</strong></div><p>Fashion events rarely give you perfect lighting. One minute you’re outside in harsh afternoon sun, the next you’re inside a dark show venue.</p><p>The Pocket 4P’s new 1-inch CMOS sensor uses LOFIC technology to deliver up to 17 stops of dynamic range in supported modes. That means more information can be retained across bright highlights and deep shadows, which is especially useful for backlit portraits, nighttime events, and high-contrast runway lighting.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17849494694777.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>4. 4K/240fps Makes Movement Look Even Better</strong></div><p>Clothes are meant to move, and the Pocket 4P can capture up to 4K/240fps in supported modes for ultra-HD slow motion.</p><p>A dress moving down the runway, hair caught in the wind, fabric flowing during a shoot, or someone simply walking through the city can be slowed down to reveal details you might otherwise miss.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>5. ActiveTrack 8.0 Keeps Up With Your Subject</strong></div><p>When you’re shooting by yourself, keeping a moving subject properly framed can be difficult. ActiveTrack 8.0 can follow people and other subjects while the camera’s gimbal keeps them within the frame.</p><p>For creators, this is useful for filming GRWMs, outfit videos, walking shots, travel diaries, or any content where you want to move naturally instead of constantly checking whether you’re still in frame.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>6. The Stabilization Makes Handheld Content Look Polished</strong></div><p>DJI’s 3-axis mechanical gimbal remains one of the Pocket series’ biggest advantages.</p><p>Fashion week is fast. You’re walking into venues, moving through crowds, switching locations, and sometimes filming while doing all three. The mechanical stabilization helps keep footage smooth without requiring a separate gimbal or elaborate setup.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>7. D-Log 2 Gives You More Room to Create Your Own Look</strong></div><p>For creators who like to edit and color-grade their footage, the new 10-bit D-Log 2 profile captures over a billion colors while retaining more information in highlights and shadows.</p><p>That flexibility matters when you want your content to have a consistent visual identity, whether that means clean and natural, warm and cinematic, or something that fits the visual language of your feed.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>8. You Can Start Shooting Almost Immediately</strong></div><p>Some of the best content happens before you have time to set anything up. With Instant Recording, rotating the touchscreen can turn on the Pocket 4P and immediately start recording.</p><p>Gesture Control makes things even easier when you’re filming yourself. An open palm can trigger ActiveTrack, while a “V” sign can start recording. For solo creators, that means less running back and forth to the camera.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17849494771028.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>9. It Works for Photos, Too</strong></div><p>The Pocket 4P can capture photos at up to 37MP, giving you enough resolution to reframe an image afterward. There’s also 4K Live Photo, which records a 1.5-second clip with each photo.</p><p>That makes it useful when you want both still and moving content from the same moment, especially for social media where an event might need to become an Instagram Story, Reel, carousel, and recap all at once.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>10. It Fits the Way We Actually Create Content Now</strong></div><p>For me, one of the most practical things about the Pocket 4P is how much it can do without becoming another large piece of equipment to carry.</p><p>It weighs 230 grams, can recharge from 0 to 80% in 18 minutes under DJI’s testing conditions, and offers up to 210 minutes of runtime on a full charge. USB 3.1 also supports wired transfers of up to 800 MB/s, which can make moving footage significantly faster.</p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><p>What I like about the Osmo Pocket 4P is that it gives me more options while keeping the setup relatively simple. I can shoot a wide view of a fashion show, get closer to a runway look with the 60mm lens, film an interview, capture a portrait, and then move on to the next event with the same camera in my bag.</p><p>For fashion and lifestyle creators, those same features can translate to an OOTD on the street, a GRWM at home, a restaurant or hotel discovery while traveling, a beauty close-up, or a cinematic travel diary.</p><div><br/></div><p>The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P is available in classic black and pearl white.
