<p>After 70 years of diplomatic ties between the <strong>Philippines</strong> and <strong>Japan</strong> in 1956, the friendship has progressed beyond policy and economic trade. To mark this monumental anniversary, <strong>Uniqlo</strong> has launched a multi-layered nationwide community initiative, celebrating intertwined cultures while looking forward to Uniqlo Philippines&#x27; own 15th anniversary in 2027. The “Ube Kome Cloud” pairs toasted burnt rice milk (kome) with lightly sweetened Bohol ube cream foam and coconut nectar, creating an airy, roasted caramel flavor profile that blends Japanese and Filipino ingredients.</p><div><br/></div><p>In partnership with designer<strong> Wilson Limon </strong>and regional artisan groups, the Re.UNIQLO initiative turns fabric scraps into embroidered patches celebrating indigenous artistry. Featuring significant key motifs from different regions, like the Frog and Kukko pattern from Itneg artisans from Abra, Panubok embroidery from Panay Bukidnon Artisans in Iloilo, and intricate dream and nature imagery from T’boli Artisans from Lake Sebu in South Cotabato.
