[WATCH] #MetroMostStylish2020: Marga Nograles Teaches Us Basic, Practical Dressing
This fashion entrepreneur has easy, no-fuss tips and why are we learning these just now?
Marga Nograles is a practical dresser—no-fuss, straight to the point. “I want to get things done fast,” she says on the kind of personality she has. And this pours over her to her way of dressing, swift but calculated. “I will do something because there’s a purpose to that.” Then out comes her forthright sense of style, easy, basic pieces that can last the test of time.
Like the rest of us, Marga is a fan of basic pieces, a must-have in any practical dresser’s wardrobe. But she injects a little jolt of fun through color or texture, say in her shoes and bags. With her, it is comfort first. You can look great but what’s the point if you can’t move in them, breathe in them or actually feel great in them? “When I’m happy with what I’m wearing, when it’s exciting, I feel like life is exciting,” she shares.
As the one heading Kaayo, a fashion brand bannering pieces and materials from Mindanao, her fashion also has a purpose. The craftsmanship of the pieces are truly local and sustainable. Needless to say, purchasing a piece from Kaayos is a support to local talent, women’s groups, and indigenous tribes, too. In short, Marga isn’t merely just a practical dresser—she lives it to her core, with things serving a particular purpose. Doesn’t practical fashion suddenly sound so good right now?
