1. How long does your glam team prepare for the ABS-CBN Ball?

It really depends on how busy the celebrities’ schedule is. It can be six months before the event, or even just two weeks! But whichever direction the wind is blowing, we make sure we put together a look that embodies true elegance and sophistication.

2. What is something you always tell your clients to bring with them to the red carpet?

Hollywood tape, wet tissue, and safety pins!

3. What are fashion tips you share to your clients?

To always do fittings, to choose shoes that are comfortable enough to dance in (although most of my clients just go with whatever is sexy and pretty, even if it’s painful! Haha!), and to enjoy the night!

4. In your years as a celebrity stylist, what is one ball experience you’ll never forget?

In 2015, Julia Montes won Star of the Night—she was stunning in Albert Andrada. That also came with a very memorable story—her gown and her jewelry were delivered to her room with unexpected details!

1. How long does your glam team prepare for the ABS-CBN Ball?

For any major red carpet events like the ABS-CBN Ball, we usually start coming up with potential looks a little over a month prior to the event.

2. What is something you always tell your clients to bring with them to the red carpet?

We always ask the celebrities to bring Hollywood tape to avoid wardrobe malfunctions. For us stylists, we should always be ready with our styling kits (which include sewing tools, among others), so that any fashion emergency can be resolved quickly.

3. What are fashion tips you share to your clients?

The one tip that I always tell my clients is to always wear the proper undergarments for gowns and suits—it serves as the foundation of a good ensemble.

For instance, the way a gown will look on your body will highly depend on the undergarments that one wears. For guys, I ask them to wear seamless airism undershirts to lessen the appearance of underarm sweat and protruding nipples.

Additionally, I also give my clients tips on how they can get that perfect picture on the red carpet—practice your walk and pose, and always know your angle.

4. In your years as a celebrity stylist, what is one ball experience you’ll never forget?

Liza Soberano and Zanjoe Marudo both won Best Dressed in 2016. Zanjoe wore Lanvin while Liza’s dress was by world-renowned Filipino designer Michael Cinco. I also love Liza’s look last year with her Dior gown, because it was very Hollywood glam—it was subtle but it exuded class.

1. How long does your glam team prepare for the ABS-CBN Ball?

For this year’s ball, my clients are more relaxed—I guess that’s because they have been doing this for years already! We just started planning for the looks on the first week of September.

2. What is something you always tell your clients to bring with them to the red carpet?

Celebrities usually bring the tiniest minaudières! I usually include Hollywood tape inside their clutches, just to make sure that whatever needs to be protected is protected.

3. What are fashion tips you share to your clients?

I know celebrities have the busiest schedules, but I really tell them to make sure they allot time for fittings. That’s the only way we’ll perfect the look.

4. In your years as a celebrity stylist, what is one ball experience you’ll never forget?

I’ve been doing the ball for the past five years, and every year is always special. I am fulfilled when clients are happy with the look we created, because they never fail to send me a message of gratitude every after ball. I also love reading articles and seeing that my clients are part of their best dressed list, because that means I did something right. These for me are priceless!
