Basic Movement and graphic designer Raxenne Maniquiz collaborated to breathe life to a special collection of hand-painted must-haves. Here comes an updated take on a popular flower, the Waling Waling. 

Through living in a small city in Bulacan, Raxenne’s fascination with nature inspired her to use vivid colors and textures in her art. For Waling Waling, Raxenne seeked help from local handcrafters and jewelry makers in Bulacan. Once known as the center of Jewelry in the Philippines before globalization, the City of Meycauayan thrived in ornate jewelry made of precious stones and gemstones. As an ode to Raxenne’s artistry and the skilled jewelry crafters of Meycauayan, Basic Movement saw it fitting to have this collection celebrated for its significance.

The hand-painted earrings, rings, necklaces, scarves, polo shirts, and tees in this collection each feature the waling waling’s round shape, overlapping petals and sepals, and colors of pink, purple, and blue-violet.
