Ben Farrales Tribute Wall At The Fora By FilipinaZ
We celebrated art, design, and fashion at the Fora by FilipinaZ. Here's why the Ben Farrales exhibit centered the three-day event.
With holiday bazaars and exhibits all over the metro, Fora by FilipinaZ stood out with its multi-disciplinary and multi-sensory experience. The fundraising event featured established artisans as well as up-and-coming talents.
Fora by FilipinaZ is a project by Zonta Club, an international service organization that supports and pushes for advancing the status women in the country. With the help of Zonta’s annual bazaars and exhibits, the organization gets to provide healthcare services, rehabilitation, and livelihood programs for disadvantaged women. The Zonta Club aims to provide inspiration and hope for the livelihood of women and local artisans through projects like the Fora.
With art, design, and fashion fused in the three-day event, it’s no question why the Fora by FilipinaZ paid tribute to the none other than, the dean of Philippine fashion, Ben Farrales and his legendary collections.
Guests were welcomed with Mang Ben’s archival works and a presentation of the designer’s timeline. With 60 years of monumental success in the fashion industry, the couturier was no stranger to the seams and silhouettes that paid tribute to the Filipina identity.
His Muslim-inspired ternos and nationalistic designs encapsulates his work through the years. Each silhouette embodies the ideals of being a Filipina—poised, empowering, and visionary. The designer’s aesthetic continuously inspires today’s groundbreaking designers and through this exhibit, fashion enthusiasts like ourselves can relive Ben Farrales’ legendary decades of fashion.
