We can’t wait for the short film where Beyonce sings 'Moon River!'
The new Tiffany & Co. campaign featuring The Carters is a campaign of firsts. It’s the first time Beyonce and Jay-Z officially starred together in a fashion campaign, Beyonce is the first black woman to wear the esteemed Tiffany Diamond, and a first time for this Basquiat panting to be used in a shoot of this level. Yes, Tiffany’s “About Love” campaign surely made headlines.
In a photo released by Beyonce, she looked every bit the sophisticate that she is channeling Audrey Hepburn’s iconic look for Breakfast at Tiffany’s . She wears the 19th-century 128.54-carat Tiffany Diamond, the fourth woman to do so, after Audrey Hepburn and Lady Gaga at the 2019 Oscars.
Jay-Z wears the now-iconic cufflinks which were a Jean Schlumberger’s legendary Bird on a Rock brooch.
Another first to see the day of light according to Tiffany, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s 1982 painting “Equals Pi,” which was rendered in the iconic Tiffany blue also took the spotlight in the campaign.
“Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the epitome of the modern love story,” says Executive Vice president of Product and Communications Alexandre Arnault in a statement. “As a brand that has always stood for love, strength and self-expression, we could not think of a more iconic couple that better represents Tiffany’s values. We are honored to have the Carters as a part of the Tiffany family.”
Much more are to be expected from the campaign. If there’s anything we’re most excited about, the 6-second teaser clip of the first few keys of the song “Moon River” with Beyonce playing the piano and Jay-Z recording with a Super 8 camera is definitely on top of our list.
