Beyonce Sets Coachella Crowd Wild With Her Five-Outfit Performance
We’re still on a #BeyChella high! Everyone can’t seem to get over Beyonce’s unforgettable performance at Coachella yesterday and we honestly can’t blame them. She was originally set to headline the world’s biggest music festival last year but had to delay it due to her pregnancy. At one point during her set, she even mentioned how she was only dreaming about her performance while carrying her twins and we must say, it was definitely worth the wait. Everything was spectacular, from the marching band, the dancers, and the now iconic, 5 costume change during her 2-hour long set.
Queen B and her team collaborated with Balmain’s creative director, Oliver Rousteing, who designed each and every costume that Beyonce and her dancers wore in the performance. Rousteing said that Beyonce and her stylist, Marni Senofonte, chose Balmain because of the label’s strong military looks from their Fall/Winter collection.
The queen surely knows how to make an entrance. For her first look, a headdress, body suit and cape inspired by Queen Nefertiti and embellished with thousands of gold and black sequins. Embroidered onto the back of the cape was the head of the Egyptian Queen while the front of the bodysuit was bejeweled with crystals.
Her 2nd look, a monogrammed yellow sweatshirt, denim shorts, and iridescent boots to suit the marching band theme of the set.
Next was the black latex suit with thigh high boots, followed by her performance with Jay-Z in a fishnet-like shirt with her new crest on the front showing the Egyptian Queen bust, a bee, a black panther, a black fist, and the ancient eye of Horus symbol above. Aside from these quick costume changes, Queen B also managed to transform her manicure from black to gold in a matter of seconds!
For Beyonce’s final look, a sequined bodysuit with camouflage print and you just know that Kelly and Michelle are about to turn up! The epic reunion has happened and in true Destiny’s Child fashion, the girls wore coordinating outfits reminiscent of the band’s “Survivor” days. For her last surprise guest of the night, her sister Solange joined the party and blessed us with a dance collaboration that no one would want to miss!
Beyonce made history yet again, being the first black woman to headline Coachella. She’s set to perform again next weekend wearing a second set of Balmain creations.
