Bonjour! Chanel’s Mademoiselle Privé Exhibition Opens In Hong Kong
Calling all Chanel fans! Your next mecca is set for Hong-Kong.
From January 13 to February 10, the Mademoiselle Privé exhibit is set to open at the PMQ in Central, promising an eclectic mix of branded, historical and digital experiences. The exhibition is free, and can be booked upon downloading the app, Mademoiselle Privé Hong-Kong app.
The exhibition first opened at the Saatchi Gallery, London, in 2015, and later opened in Seoul last June. Its popularity to fashion fanatics, and curious visitors, is owed to its uniquely modern approach. Guests can expect less of a museum-like setting, and more of an interactive set, filled with Chanel curiosities.
The Mademoiselle Privé app itself not only includes a good resource about Chanel, but also serves as an extension to the exhibit; viewers can watch the intentionally minimal sets come to life through their smartphones, like Chanel’s rooms appearing through a re-construction of the iconic, mirrored staircase. Other interesting sets include a special set dedicated to the Chanel N5 perfume, haute couture displays, and re-editions of the “Bijoux de Diamants” fine jewelry collection.
All in all, the Mademoiselle Privé exhibition is a fun-filled experience, and a glimpse into the future of fashion galleries. Much can still be learned from the unparalleled spirit of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, the iconography of the brand, and the rebellious genius of Karl Lagerfeld. This is a real, fashion opportunity like no other.
