The Filipino's love for basketball is strong, and every generation can attest to this. Ever since Titan, a basketball concept shop and sneaker retailer, landed in the Philippines, the brand has been pushing athletes and fans to throw on stylish looks on- and off-court. This year for their collaboration with Jordan, Titan taps visual artist and creative Alyssa 'Chi' Loyzaga Gibbs to have her reimagine the Air Jordan 2.

Inspired by the late basketball legend and her grandfather Carlos 'Caloy' Matute Loyzaga, Chi blazes her own trail with a pair of sneakers that continues his legacy.

Caloy who was also known as “The Big Difference” led the Philippines Men’s National Basketball team to a bronze medal in the 1954 World Cup. Chi references iconic photos of her grandfather by decorating the shoes with his jersey numbers 14 and 41. Other figures such as the “22” a nod to Titan and “23” in honor of Michael Jordan were also in display across the entire shoes.

No detail was overlooked on these AJ2s, from its tropical colorway, its limited edition packaging, to the campaign that featured Chi Gibbs and her sister Gab Gibbs, Filipino basketball stars Trina Guytingco and David Murrell, and Jordan ambassadors Gabriel Soriano and Lyn Alumno.

Shot in Palacio de Memoria by fashion photographer BJ Pascual, the campaign photos turned out to be the perfect recreation of Caloy and the '54 Philippine team's airport arrival photo in Brazil. How iconic!
