Aladdin Star Mena Massoud And Darren Criss Wear Francis Libiran Creations In Hollywood
It’s a whole new world for international fashion designer Francis Libiran who has, once again, made his way to the Hollywood red carpet and to prime time television in the US. Just in time for the premier of Aladdin, Mena Massoud, the star of Aladdin wore a Francis Libiran jacket on the Ellen Degeneres Show (popularly known as Ellen) on May 21, 2019, as he sat side by side with co-stars Will Smith, the Genie, and Naomi Scott, who plays Princess Jasmine in the film. Aladdin premiers Friday, May 24 in the Philippines and is expected to be a blockbuster hit.
In the same week that the Aladdin lead star wore Francis Libiran, the multi-awarded lead star of Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Darren Criss, wore a heavily-beaded art deco Francis Libiran jacket to the Hollywood premiere of Aladdin. Criss, who is half Filipino, first became a household name in the US as a leading star of Ryan Murphy’s hit show Glee, which Darren starred in from 2010-2015. Francis Libiran met Darren Criss while attending the Golden Globe Awards in January 2019, where Criss won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television.
The following month, on February 16, 2019, Darren Criss married his college sweetheart and musician Mia Swier in New Orleans and wore a custom Francis Libiran Barong Tagalog to his wedding reception. The two were captured together jamming out at their reception, which is reported to be an intimate celebration perfectly befitting for the couple’s taste.

While Francis Libiran’s magic carpet ride to Hollywood stardom continued this week with stars like Mena Massoud and Darren Criss showcasing his creations, Francis Libiran is no stranger to other Hollywood stars. Francis has dressed stars like Tyra Banks, Gwen Stefani, Mel B (also known as Scary Spice from the Spice Girls), Macklemore, Angela Bassett, Carson Kressley, Lilliana Vazquez, Cynthia Bailey, Nikki Reed, among others.

It would seem Francis Libiran has no plans of slowing down when it comes to his international presence, having recently participated in Harbin Fashion Week 2019 for the third consecutive year. In 2018, Francis Libiran was invited to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur where he showcased his creations and later the same year faced-off with prominent Filipino designers like Michael Cinco, Furne Amato, Ezra Santos and Cary Santiago in World Class at Waterfront City Hotel and Casino Cebu. From Portland to Paris to Canada to Vietnam, Francis Libiran continues to make his way around the world with his creations, always proudly wearing the Philippine flag wherever he appears, giving credit to his country and the people that contribute to catapulting his international career to where it is today.
