Happy, the multi-hyphenate mom of four boys is the woman behind your favorite Filipino fare at Power Plant Mall's The Grid. Also the restaurateur behind favorite restaurants like Hawaiian BBQ and Pamana, Happy seems to have perfected local dishes that hits the spot every single time. Recently, Happy also launched her private dining business "Private Dining by Happy Concept Group" that offers discerning clients a unique gastronomic experience in a decorated private space. We asked her how she gets through this hectic season, and what her no-fail gift ideas are, and boy are we happy with what she had to say...
"I do the revitalising drip from Kamiseta Skin whenever I feel tired from work, I'm coming from a trip, and especially during the busy holidays—it has immune system boosters and anti-ageing components that rejuvenates you and gives you more energy!" Happy shares this as her go-to beauty solution for days like these when getting drained is inevitable.
As for her curated gift guide ideas? Happy is quick to share that FOOD, especially brands like Mom Made frozen dishes, Spoiled Mommy's jams, Nicole Ortega's cheese pimiento or chicken spread, Carina Guevara's turkey basket, and Wildflour's christmas ham tops her list. It comes as no surprise that Happy chooses to spoil her loved ones with what she knows best, food, food, and more food! Who's complaining though?
And as for another area that she's best known for, hosting, Happy shares a bit of advice for all the parties you're going to throw from now until the end of the year (or even for all your soirees come 2019): 1) Buy potted flowers like Poinsettias or orchids and use them in your tablescapes so it could last the whole season; 2) Use red apples as your table centerpiece or decor by making mini Christmas trees out of it using flower foam and BBQ sticks—this will also last you the whole season; and 3) Plan your menu and theme ahead of time then prepare them before your party. Do all your food prep, tablescape, table setting one day in advance so you are more relaxed on the day itself! Now who's ready to party?
This woman started making waves a couple of years ago when she began designing for today's chic woman who just needs to step out looking stylish every. single. time! Patty Ang, one of Metrowear's featured designers back in 2017, spent the year by further building her fashion design business, opening a boutique in Power Plant Mall's chic new wing, dressing international celebrities, and preparing for another milestone in her life—her wedding! We turn to Patty this time, to pick the woman-of-the-hour about her holiday style tips, as well as her no-fail gift guide for the chic women in your life!
The fashion designer has perfected the effortlessly chic look we all love to copy, so we asked for her top 5 pieces for a stylish holiday season. Patty shares these must-haves: "A good pair of heels (especially ones we could run around with to different events and parties); loose pants that are comfortable and could go from day to night; a nicely fit white shirt; a nice scarf; and a hoodie—I love comfort!"
A woman like Patty wears many hats—entrepreneur, girlfriend, and mother, and we're sure it takes a lot to get through a busy season such as this. When asked what her ultimate holiday season survival tip is, Patty says "I think the most important is time management, especially with the traffic! Also to make sure to plot down all the to do’s in your calendar, so it doesn’t slip our mind." We couldn't agree more!
This chinky-eyed beauty stuns without making much effort, but we were keen to find out what her makeup kit has, and what she likes keeping at arm's reach during the holidays. She shares, "I love M.A.C lip liners, I use them all around my lip for a long lasting effect! But my greatest discovery now is eyelash extensions—I love how it instantly fixes you, especially when you’re on the go! "
And lastly, for the Patty Ang gift guide, it's not what you would expect. She shares that material things are not a one-of thing and can really vary depending on who you're giving it to. She says "It’s hard to think of a gift that suits everyone. Whether is be big or small, I love hand-written cards. For me, it’s the most memorable part of the gift." Now that's one tip that will surely go a long way!
Vania Romoff has had a pretty remarkable year—she married the love of her life, opened her brand new boutique at Power Plant Mall (a few steps away from Patty Ang's store), launched a brand new bridal collection, and ended the year with a bang—by showing a 60-piece collection for Metrowear, as she is Metro Magazine's Metrowear Icon for 2018, the youngest designer to ever receive the honor!
How then, does an insanely busy woman like her manage to live such a fabulous life amidst the crazy demands of being an entrepreneur, a mom, and a wife (and look awesome while she's at it)? For the holiday season, we asked Vania for her top 5 holiday must-haves, and she shares that these are her non-negotiables:
"Metallics; a cute silk Pajama coordinate that you could wear out; cozy knitwear; a great polka dot frock is always festive. A statement pair of heels, preferably something with sparkle!"
While you already look good for the party, Vania shares that certain strategies must be in place to make sure you survive the holidays. "Try to get as much sleep as your schedule permits. Enjoy the chaos instead of fighting it! It will all be over soon, December always flies by so fast!" Words of wisdom right there!
Her signature beauty look? Vania shares "Always a red lip, a bit of glitter on the eyes and LOTS of highlighter!" And last but not least, when asked about her gift guide, Vania quips, "I like to make it feel personal so I like printing out photos from the phone and placing them in a nice frame. It’s simple but heartfelt."
