On this beautiful sunny December day, the Metro Weddings cover girl walked down the aisle towards the love of her life in a stunningly sexy yet classic looking wedding gown designed by her good friend and Metrowear Icon, Rajo Laurel. The lace number exudes bohemian beach chic and sensual bride all at the same time!
We at Metro.Style got to chat with members of her creative team for the wedding and got to know the little details behind this fashion moment. Read on to find out more!
The Welcome Dinner
House of Laurel created a modern twist for the classic Terno for Iza and Ben's Filipino Fiesta-themed welcome dinner. The royal blue looked amazing against her skintone, and the high ponytail accentuated by Ken Samudio seahorse earrings were the perfect way to cap off the look!
The Wedding Ceremony
For the actual ceremony, Iza got prepared to walk down the aisle in a beautiful nude La Tercera bridal robe. Her glam team for the wedding is no other than Juan Sarte for makeup, and Celeste Tuviera for hair. Both longtime friends of Iza's, they created a glowing bridal look perfect for the blushing bride.
Isn't she lovely? The effortlessly beautiful inside and out Iza Calzado is a vision on her wedding day.
We talked to Rajo Laurel about his inspiration behind the gown and he quickly shares, "The inspiration of Iza's wedding gown was this sort of bohemian beach vibe while remaining classic and easy. So we wanted something that’s timeless, and we wanted something that will really be beautiful forever. So, those are the things that went through our minds when creating the wedding gown."
We were eager to know more about the process behind the collaboration and asked Rajo if Iza had a certain vision in mind. He then goes on to share, "Yes, she did have silhouettes in mind. She didn’t want anything over or big. She really wanted really beach-appropriate, she wanted something close to the body, accentuating her waist. The sleeves wre up for discussion, so that was an interesting process because we went through several prototypes for the sleeves. We started out with a cap sleeve, and then it became a bell, and then a 3/4 sleeve, and now it's a wonderful long sleeve with a fluted cuff and I think it’s very flattering."
"The material of the dress is very special lace from Sophie Hallette which an institution of lace makers based in France, and essentially it was a combination of a chantilly and corded lace combined, and I think it's quite special. So the lace itself is actually something that's worth talking about." - Rajo Laurel
For the final touches to her outfit, Iza chose to don shoes by Stuart Weitzman, rings by Jul B. Dizon, and a clutch by Filipino designer Bea Valdes.

The After Party
We know that Iza's fun-loving personality won't skip on the chance to dance the night away—especially on her big day, so we asked about her after party outfit. Turns out she asked designer Boom Sason to create an outfit that's equal parts comfortable and chic, to keep things fun and stylish! In lieu of a cocktail dress, Iza chose to wear a halter-cut, beaded jumpsuit that shows just the right amount of skin. In true Boom Sason fashion, the outfit made her look sexy yet sophisticated, fitting for a woman in love!
