New TV series are always cause for celebration. Streaming on Prime Video this July is Fit Check: Confessions of An Ukay Queen, a fashion-focused Filipino comedy drama centering on the life of an aspiring fashion designer who sells secondhand clothes for a living.

Kim Chiu plays Melanie Dela Cruz, a bubbly optimist who wants to make it big in the fashion industry. Opportunity knocks when Chris, played by Jake Ejercito, a handsome young fashion executive takes notice of her designs. The series also stars Angel Aquino, Christopher de Leon, and Kylie Verzosa.

In the series, Kim’s character is almost always spotted in interesting reworked pieces and thrifted looks. She’s the ukay queen for a reason!
