Lighten Up: Hollywood's A-list Decides To Rock Pale Ensembles For The 23rd Critics' Choice Awards
While the recently concluded Golden Globe Awards drew much attention to the A-list donning all-black ensembles for the much talked about #TimesUp campaign against the marginalization and harassment of women across all industries, the 23rd annual Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet on the other hand seemed to have gone the opposite route, with Tinseltown's stylish crop donning white, beige, and a generally lighter color palette.
While going the lighter route doesn't necessarily mean they're not supporting the said cause, this move was probably just to create some form of style statement, and nothing else. We loved the all-black ensembles in beautiful trendy executions like feathers, sparkle, sheer, and asymmetrical, but we're equally enamored by the choice of designs for this pale roster of gowns. Here are the ones that caught our eye:
Angelina Jolie in a feathered Ralph & Russo tube dress
Kate Bosworth in a long-sleeved lace Brock Collection gown
Alison Brie in a draped, Grecian-inspired Roberto Cavalli gown
Saoirse Ronan in a sparkly Michael Kors dress
Heidi Klum in a deep-V Georges Hobeika gown
Diane Kruger in a white Vera Wang gown with chain detail
Hayden Panettiere in a daring peach gown
