To celebrate the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence, the office of the First Lady Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos organized an artisanal fair and exhibit to showcase Filipino craftsmanship.

Following the success of LIKHA in February this year, the second installment of this event features a wider array of traditional crafts including hand-weaved fabrics, jewelry, embroidery, basket making, stone carving, shell crafting, and pottery from all over the country.

The convention series hopes to bridge artists and their precious crafts with designers, traders, manufacturers, tourists, and the public. Beyond celebrating artistry, LIKHA aims to provide an avenue for communication, innovation, and co-creation.

“This project is in keeping with the words of my husband, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, during the State of the Nation last year when he said, ‘The creativity of the Filipino is world class,’ and that we excel in arts and culture, and everything Filipino,” says the First Lady.

LIKHA 2 is ongoing at the SMX Aura Convention Center until June 13, from 10am to 7pm. The artisanal fair and exhibit is open to the public.
