Longchamp S/S 23 Celebrates a Life of Glamping
Expect bold hues and unlikely collaborations with your favorite silhouettes.
Friends of Longchamp including Leila Alcasid, Lauren Reid, Keiko Fox, Debbie Then, and Jaz Reyes along with select members of the press got a first look at the collection. Longchamp presented mainly the bags and leather goods that complemented the colorful ensembles of the season.
Vibrant hues of pink, yellow, and green were the star of the collection along with silhouettes that spoke of travels and trajectories in new directions.
The Longchamp Box-Trot Crossbody Bag sees itself in eye-catching color-ways of Candy, Cognac, and Lemon, making for a great statement against neutral ensembles
For those who wish to carry a bit more on casual days, there is the Épure Bucket in Fuschia and White. The iconic Roseau bag finds itself designed in cotton and linen embellished with polka dots for the season.
Of course, the Le Pliage was designed in different glamping motifs for the season with the Filet mesh bag in yellow/orange as if to mimic the sunset. The Le Pliage Re-Play Handbag in Fuschia and Corn were for those who needed to be unencumbered during their getaways. On the other hand, a sense of whimsy is found in the Le Panier Pliage Vanity in a straw-effect canvas featuring floral embroidery.
In the press release, creative director Sophie Delafontaine describes the Glamping collection--from its clothes to its leather goods and accessories--as a mixture of two unlikely elements. She said, “You can twist sequins with stripes. You can twist a metallic leather mini-skirt with a two-tone knit crop top and a leather jacket with glitter polka dots. That’s the essence of the daring and dynamic Longchamp woman.”
Other elements to the collection are denim baseball caps with the Longchamp racehorse logo and sunglasses that adapt designs from take inspiration from snow and water sports. You can also find fresh additions with new sneakers, clogs, and the Le Pliage Re-Play sandals.
Longchamp S/S 23 also features a collaboration with Fatboy: an inflatable armchair in recycled polyester featuring an outside pocket with a cowhide leather flapfrom the emblematic Le Pliage bag.
Altogether, the season for Longchamp is an “ode to joy, escape, and nature with an authentic and contemporary spirit.”
