Meet The New Louis Vuitton Designer Set To Shake Things Up

The artist and entrepreneur is about to make major changes and we can’t wait!

The fashion world woke up to gigantic news that Pharrel Williams is set to become Lous Vuitton’s newest Men’s Creative Director. Since the passing of Virgil Abloh in November 2021, the seat has been unfulfilled. Today, the French fashion house is back on track to shake up the menswear game starting with Pharrell’s first collection at Paris Men’s Fashion this June.

Pharrell is an artist, fashion designer, entrepreneur and a cultural icon with a repertoire spanning from art, music, beauty, and fashion. He’s one of the most sought after personalities when it comes to collaborations. Quite notably, his collabs with Adidas, Louis Vuitton, Uniqlo, and Moncler are some his following truly remember. This is apart from being the face of some big fashion houses like Chanel. Up his sleeves are also the brand he founded Billionaire Boys Club and his skincare line Human Race. Let us now forget that Pharrell was initially known to be a musician and rapper, will millions of records sold in his lifetime.

While the appointment still came as a surprise, the news received surprised reactions from insiders and Louis Vuitton fanatics alike. With rumored names to take the seat including designers Martine Rose, Grace Wales Bonner and Samuel Ross, Pharrell emerged as the top choice.

“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new men’s creative director. His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter,” says Pietro Beccari, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Louis Vuitton.

It’s definitely an era for Louis Vuitton Men’s to watch out for!
