Celebrity weddings are always something to marvel over. If you have the influence of a celebrity, has friends with serious fashion credentials and connections to some of the best names in the business, the world of wedding dresses is really your oyster.Famed wedding gowns throughout history have come in every silhouette, style, color, and they often reflect the times. In light of Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin's engagement, we can't help but wonder what the Queen of Melodrama would look like on her wedding day rumored to happen this month.

If you've been a fan of Ye-jin, you would know that her sense of style is incredibly timeless. Ye-jin always gravitate towards uncomplicated silhouettes with interesting details like bows, subtle prints, and embroidery. It's important to note that you'll never see her without jewelry, either a pair of earrings or a diamond ring. It won't be a surprise if she decides to wear a wedding ensemble with all of these little elements combined.

To help us theoretically visualize her wedding dress, we asked Filipino Designers Steph Tan, Jazel Sy, Chris Nick, Francis Libiran, and Rajo Laurel if they could sketch a gown fit for someone like Son Ye-jin. Here's to everyone who would love to see her in something new and something Filipino-made! In their own words, let these designer take you to their design process.

Steph Tan

'Son Ye Jin has always been known for her elegant but fashion-forward style so she would probably have an effortless stylish look on her wedding day. I thought of designing a chic and timeless piece that still has a fresh feel. I can envision her wearing an off-the-shoulder fit and flared wedding dress to match her petite frame and her girl-next-door features. The main material of the wedding dress will be tulle with light nude lining. It will be adorned with embroidery in linear pattern, clear flat paillettes, and small pearls for added dimension and subtle sparkle.'

'For Son Ye-Jin, a gown with thin straps & low cut back will show off her slender frame. It’s made of a very soft fabric that will make her look ethereal. It will also have accents of sampaguita-like flowers & beads to symbolize our country.'

Chris Nick

'A love letter to Old Hollywood—I envision Son Ye-jin in this finalé number from my upcoming bridal collection. A mix of elegant sophistication with the energy of today—classic yet contemporary current is this fully embellished ivory ostrich feather micro ensemble cinched with a black oversized bow train. A Look that perfectly compliments Son Ye-jin's dainty sophisticated style and elevating it with a little edginess and sensuality.'

Francis Libiran

'Inspired by her timeless and captivating beauty, I’d love to see Son Ye-jin in a semi-serpentine wedding gown embroidered with my signature linear art deco beadwork to perfectly accentuate her figure. I’m sure that it will be an eventful day so I’d also love to add a detachable overskirt to give her a two-in-one look effortlessly.'

Rajo Laurel

'Crash Landing On You was the first Korean telenovela that really got me hooked. It was such a needed respite from the pandemic as we literally binged on every episode in the early days of the lock down. I imagine Ms. Son Ye-Jin getting married in the early summer when all the flowers are at their peak of bloom. I see her in a white bisque coloured silk duchess satin gown that has a high boat neckline and long fitted slim sleeves. The bodice will have a low back that will be accented with fresh flowers such as peonies, freesias, and hyacinths adding subtle color. Her skirt will be draped layers dream of silk organza with a soft bustle in the back cascading down with an electric pleated hem gently peeking underneath. Quintessentially a classic wedding gown devoid of decoration as I see her sublime in this minimalistic manner.'
