<p>In case you missed it, 48 of the most exclusive watch maisons came together and showcased their newly released pieces at <strong>Watches and Wonders Geneva 2023</strong> held at the Palexpo last March 27 to April 2. </p><div><br/></div><p>As highlighted by Mr. Jean-Frédéric Dufour, President of the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation, and Mr. Mauro Poggia, President of the State Council of Geneva, the launch and duration of this event played a significant role in not only creating a bond among the people in the industry, but also in connecting with the future generations. The week-long watch fair garnered a high number of attendees and presenters from across the globe and included celebrity cameos, such as Chopard’s muse Julia Roberts and tennis star Roger Federer.</p><div><br/></div><p>Watches and Wonders 2023 celebrated the art and beauty of exceptional timepieces in a manner that appealed to all. On top of a short number from the Geneva Ballet, the event included numerous bands, DJs, and various dance performers. We also can’t forget to mention the giant ice sculpture carved in the likeness of the Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Watch. For the more technical people out there, the fair also featured robotic assistants throughout the grounds, counting their available bar. Of course, many, if not all, of the timepiece admirers couldn’t help but enjoy themselves as they witnessed a close up view of expert watchmakers in their craft.</p><div><br/></div><p>The convention included latest pieces, which ranged from the re-innovation of classic expressions like Rolex’s new Cosmograph Daytona, to the celebration of a decades old ingenious design seen in IWC’s Ingenieur Automatic Silver-Plated piece, t0 high jewelry pieces from Jaeger-LeCoultre and Piaget.</p><div><br/></div><p>Listed in the gallery below are the top 10 watches and pieces we believe deserve to be highlighted. The piece includes a guilloché dial, the chronometer-certified L.U.C Caliber 96.40-L, and a case crafted from Chopard Lucent Steel, an alloy made from 80% recycled steel.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Collection Tentagraph: SLGC001 - Grand Seiko showcased their first-ever mechanical chronograph powered by their newly innovated Caliber 9SC5. The Tentagraph does not only offer ease in reading while at motion, but also has a three-day power reserve making it the longest-running 10-beat chronograph in the current market.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Hermés Arceau Petite Lune - Hermés presented a unique and creative way of storytelling through their latest moon phase watch, the Arceau Petite Lune. This timepiece takes us on a space voyage on our wrists with a magical depiction of our solar system through diamonds, mother-of-pearl, and an aventurine backdrop. The design of the piece allows us to follow the moon on its trajectory until it hides behind the stars.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 Silver-Plated - The IWC Ingenieur was first introduced in 1955, but is closely linked to the legendary watch designer Gérald Genta. The Ingénieur Automatic 40 Silver-Plated pays homage to the Geneva designer’s Ingenieur SL, Reference 1832 created in the 1970s, while also incorporating high quality ergonomics and technology.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Secret Necklace - Ever since the early beginnings of La Grande Maison, the importance of a woman’s role in determining aesthetics of time was recognized. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso was originally created for polo players, but soon after its first release, the model also took on a feminine expression. This Reverso Secret Necklace is a reinterpretation of this model in a form of high jewelry, a piece scattered with diamonds, polished onyx, and gold.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Chronograph 0 Oxygen The 8000 - As a dedication to mountaineers and the highest peaks of the world, the Montblanc 8000 capsule collection was crafted. The collection features their new Zero Oxygen case that prevents fogging and oxidation of the watches’ components. Highlighted here is the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen South Pole, which is designed with textures and details of different geological elements.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><div></div></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime - Patek Philippe produced a reimagined version of their most complex watch with over 20 complications, the Grandmaster Chime, by detailing it with two tones. Its reversible double-sided white gold case is adorned with pushers, a crown, a minute repeater slide piece, and swivel links all in rose gold. All these are complemented by the watch’s chestnut brown alligator strap.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Piaget Swing Sautoir - Emerald - The beautiful high-jewelry sautoir piece from Piaget reinvents the maison’s signatures from the 1960s and 70s. While the draping of the hand-made gold chain infused with diamonds was breathtaking, it was the rare 25.38 carat oval cabochon Zambian emerald and malachite dial that stole the show.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Rolex Oyster-Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona - In celebration of the 60th year of the brand’s iconic racing watch, Rolex presented its first new Daytona after 23 years. The rendition of the classic model makes use of the maison’s Caliber 4131 that features Paraflex shock absorbers and Chronergy escapement. While five variations were presented, the icy blue dial and chestnut bezel make this model standout.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Tudor Black Bay 54 - As an ode to the brand’s first dive watch that was released in 1954, Tudor presented the Black Bay 54. This timepiece is a blend of modern expression and reinterpretation of the 1954 reference 7922 watch.
