Ji Chang-wook
The much-loved Ji Chang-wook enlisted on August 14, 2017 and was discharged in April 27, 2019. He was assigned to the Army’s 5th Artillery Brigade at Cheorwon, Gangwon Province where he was appointed as a Platoon Leader, Corporal, and further promoted as a Sergeant.

Ji Chang-wook
After his mandatory military service Ji Chang Wook starred in ‘Melting Me Softly’ which is then followed by 2020’s ‘Backstreet Rookie’.

Kang Ha-neul
Kang Ha-neul began his military service on September 11, 2017 at the Nonsan Korean Army Training Center. During his service, he was appointed as the honorary ambassador of the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) where he participated in events organized by the MMA until he was discharged in May 23, 2019.

South Korean actor and singer of boyband ZE:A, Im Si-wan began his military service in July 11, 2017 and was discharged on March 27, 2019.

Song Joong-ki
Song Joong-ki values his tight-knit relationship with his fans that prior to his enlistment for the military, he held a fan meeting to bid temporary goodbyes. He enlisted on August 27, 2019 at the 102nd draft camp in Chuncheon, South Korea. He then served an infantry unit before being discharged on May 26, 2015.

His major comeback after his military service was the hit-series ‘Descendants Of The Sun’ which bagged him two Grand Prize Awards and Best Couple Awards with his ex-wife Song Hye-kyo.

Rain fulfilled his military service from October 2011 until July 2013. During his two-year period in the military, he was named as a top marksman and was appointed as the promotional ambassador for the Military Manpower Administration (MMA).

Legendary TV and film actor, Gong-Yoo enlisted for his mandatory military service on January 14, 2008 after starring in hit-series ‘Coffee Prince’. He served at the frontline active service in Cheorwon and later served in the public relations department as a DJ in the army radio station under the Defense Media Agency. He was discharged on December 8, 2009.

Gong-Yoo
After his military service, Gong-Yoo made his comeback with ‘Finding Mr. Destiny’ which was then followed by a film entitled ‘Silenced’ which garnered him the Popular Star award at the 32nd Blue Dragon Film Awards.

Park Seo-joon
Park Seo-joon is one of the very few South Korean actors who served in the mandatory military service before their debut in the industry. He enlisted in 2008 when he was 19 years old and was discharged in 2010. After his two-year period in the military, PSJ debuted in 2011 at Bang Yong-guk’s music video entitled ‘I Remember’. After this appearance, he starred in K-dramas ‘Dream High 2’, ‘Pots Of Gold’, and ‘Now Warm Word’ consecutively. He started getting recognition in 2015 with ‘Kill Me, Heal ME’ and ‘The Chronicles Of Evil’.

Kim Soo-hyun
Prior to his military enlistment, Kim Soo-hyun was assigned to public service duty instead of active duty as he previously underwent heart surgery. He went for re-examinations and was eventually cleared for mandatory military service. He enlisted in October 23, 2017 and was assigned in a military camp in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. He was then assigned in the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion and promoted as Sergeant before being discharged on July 1, 2019.

Kim Soo-hyun
Right after his military service, Kim Soo-hyun had an appearance in 'Hotel de Luna' and 'Crash Landing On You'. These cameos propelled him to the success of 'It's Okay To Not Be Okay'.

Lee Min-ho
Lee Min-ho’s mandatory military service was delayed for almost two times after suffering tragic car crashes in 2006 and 2011. On March 15, 2018, Min-ho began his training at the Korea Army Training Centre in Nonsan, South ChungCheong Province. After four weeks of basic military training, he was then transferred to public service duty, Min-ho was discharged on April 25, 2019.

Hyun Bin
Hyun Bin proves that he is the man of our dreams when he volunteered to serve in the Marine Corps on March 7, 2011. Hyun Bin decision to join the toughest branch of the Korean military sparked interest in the entire industry. He served in the front lines of the Baengnyong Island, the reported site of a November 2010 artillery engagement between North and South Korea. He was discharged on December 6, 2012 and received a citation for being an exemplary soldier.
