#MetroStyleWatch: Our Favourite Red Carpet Outfits At The 2019 MTV VMAs
All the best looks we spotted at this year's VMAs!
We can always count on the MTV Video Music Awards to deliver the most iconic (read: dramatic!) moments in pop culture. Remember Britney Spears' sexy snake performance in 2001? How about when Miley Cyrus twerked it off with Robin Thicke in 2013?
However, the biggest, most unforgettable moment in VMAs history happened 10 years ago, when Kanye West grabbed Taylor Swift's microphone as she was accepting her award for Best Female Video. (A decade later, we're happy to see that the songstress continues to climb the ladder of success. This 2019, she's tied with Ariana Grande as the artist with the most nominations. Taylor also opened the show with two of her new singles—Kanye, on the other hand, was not in attendance.)
While this year's VMAs went on to be drama-free, we're happy to announce that the red carpet fashion did not disappoint. Known for its over-the-top dress code, you can always count on the VMAs to deliver head-turning looks worthy of your screen cap button. For your dose of red carpet fix, keep scrolling!
Taylor Swift in Versace
Staying in theme with the aesthetics of her newly launched album Lover, the Video of the Year winner walked the red carpet in a sparkling Versace jacket fully embellished with Swarovski crystals. She layered her custom blazer over a pink crop top that featured the fashion house's iconic inverted sweetheart neckline.
Camila Cabello in Balmain
The Señorita singer sizzled at the red carpet in a sexy cut-out dress that perfectly hugged her figure. To complement her minimalist dress, she styled her hair in long, wavy curls and went for a no makeup-makeup look. She was equal parts hot and angelic!
Gigi and Bella Hadid
The supermodel siblings are at it again! Gigi and Bella slayed the VMAs in monochromatic, all-nude outfits. And if you look closely, you'll notice the stylish duo is also making a case for pointed footwear!
Halsey in Peter Dundas
The "Nightmare" singer and Artist of the Year nominee rocked a fun and edgy outfit. She also styled her hair with a rainbow middle part, paying tribute to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Keke Palmer in Yousef Al Jasmi
High shine was the name of Keke Palmer's game! She definitely dropped jaws in this figure-hugging, dazzling ensemble by Kuwaiti couturier Youself Al Jasmi. Oh, and is that a nostalgic, golden cellphone we see? We're totally obsessed with this look.
Heidi Klum in NEDO by NEDRET TACİROGLU
Finally, Heidi Klum arrived at the VMAs in a sultry, metallic ensemble. (It was also her first public appearance after getting married to Tom Kaulitz a few weeks ago in Italy!)
Turning her comeback a fashion statement, Heidi donned a sequinned mini dress that featured empowering shoulder pads and a neckline that flaunted her amazing décolletage.
