LOOK: Dennis Trillo Wears Francis Libiran At The Venice Film Festival
This festival was an incredible feat for Philippine cinema and fashion!
The 78th Venice Film Festival was a big win for Philippine cinema and fashion. For starters, Francis Libiran’s signature Art Deco men’s suit was breathed new life on the red carpet by Dennis Trillo, one of the stars of On the Job: The Missing 8, a film by Erik Matti.
Dennis made sure to highlight Philippine talent on the esteemed red carpet. For his first look, an Art Deco cutout suit by Francis Libiran was at the forefront. The ornate sleeves updated the traditional suit. Matched with a black bowtie and a pin of the Philippine flag, it sure was a standout!
Another look was Francis Libiran’s take on the Barong Tagalog. Dennis donned a modern iteration of the piece also with Francis’ Art Deco touch. He capped off the look with a Shoepatos pair.
Team Philippines at the festival also won big. John Arcilla, another star in the same film which premiered at the festival, was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actor. “This Volpi Cup is such a symbol of a milestone in my work as an actor, just like my cup of life which is so full of blessings outpouring from the [heavens.],” he said on his video post on Instagram.
The film is a sequel to the internationally acclaimed action film On the Job in 2013, starring Gerald Anderson and Joel Torre.
