Here Are 5 Pieces In Your Closet That Can Bring You The Most Joy
From button-downs to loungewear, these fashion girls spill the ultimate fashion mood booster.
Dressing up feels extremely different especially after four months of isolation. We've gone from wearing different outfits every day to maybe something more casual and repetitive as we stay indoors—at least for the most of us. Just like the times, our favorite fashion pieces have changed too. Nowadays, we gravitate towards clothes that bring us more joy and perhaps a sense of productivity. We have bid goodbye to maybe some of our favorite pieces in exchange for comfortable loungewear and routinary work-from-home outfits.
Our favorite fashion girls Ava Diaz, Nicole Andersson, Em Millan, Geewel Cabungcal-Fuster, and Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez feel the exact same way as they spill their newest feel-good pieces for us! This one fashion piece is what brings them joy when they put it on—yes, just like fashion magic! With their closet must-haves and convenient styling tips, we made it easier for you to find the exact style and mood boost you need.
Style sweetheart Ava Diaz-Daza looks good in loungewear as much as she does in everything else. Her favorite feel good piece is her pair of leggings from Sweaty Squad Athleisure and she pairs it with almost everything! "I own a lot of leggings but this brand is by far the most comfortable. The height of the waist band is perfect, it's camel-toe free, and the fabric is so soft. It’s so easy to get into and remove," says Ava. Whether she's at home or out running errands, Ava will most likely be in a comfortable sweater or an oversized shirt paired with her favorite leggings. Yes, comfort makes us happy!
When the going gets tough, Nicole Andersson makes sure that she's in one of her favorite dresses from Revolve. "Every time I wear one of these dresses I always feel like I'm going to be in a good mood for the rest of the day. I usually style these with a pair of cute earrings and a set of dainty necklaces," says Nicole. It never fails to have that one go-to dress to wear on days when you want to look your best but you don't want to stress about it. Pick the right print or pattern that best fits your style and wear it until you it's time to get a new one! You will know which dress that would be when you find it.
Stylist to the stars and a fashionista herself, Em Millan has never strayed away from a quintessential button-down. Em admits that she may or may not have a closet full of varying white shirts but above it all, her feel good piece has got to be a crisp white button-down. "I have this favorite one from Lanvin that has a hidden placket with the collar and cuffs, which [makes them] always extra stiff. Whenever I put it on, I feel like the day’s a new slate, a fresh start, and that I can do anything. There’s something about a crisp shirt (extra starch spray) that just evokes power for me," says Em. As a stylist, she's able to use this piece as a base for all of her favorite outfits. She can leave it wrinkled and undone or press it with an iron until its stiff enough to stand as a statement piece. You can give Em any piece in your wardrobe and she can whip out about 5 different outfits to choose from in minutes and she never fails to impress us every time.
Architect and fashion mogul Geewel Cabungcal-Fuster is no stranger to statement pieces we all love. Her eye for detail is conveyed work and on her outfits as well. "My favorite feel good fashion pieces are from my good friend and designer, Boom Sason. I always admire her well-crafted clothes, which are specifically designed to accentuate a woman’s body. The moment I got back my pre-pregnancy weight, I immediately wore my nude body-con dress made by Boom and it always puts me in a good mood ever since," says Geewel. She believes that there is no other way to wear a nude dress but with attitude and a killer fashion spirit. We completely agree!
Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez would normally gravitate to a nice V-neck t-shirt paired with a good pair of shorts but lately she has been in active wear! "I have been wearing this sports bra that also works as a cropped top from Alo Yoga and I either pair it with its matching tights or shorts," says Mikaela. A style boost is one thing but a mood boosting piece too is another. Mikaela has luckily hit the jackpot when it comes to wearing the perfect feel good piece at home.
