From Francis Libiran to Michael Cinco and more, see which Filipino-made looks were made for these stunning Miss Universe candidates.
It's not new to see a Filipino-made ensemble on the Miss Universe stage but whenever we do, we celebrate! Over the years, we have seen the works of the best and up-and-coming Filipino designers worn by Miss Universe hopefuls from all over the world. This year, we saw 10 evening gowns and 2 national costumes made by Filipino designers. Apart from our very own Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez and her ensembles by Francis Libiran and Axel Que, take a closer look at all of the notable Filipino-made ensembles that graced the stage of the 70th Miss Universe in the gallery down below. From Miss Universe USA Elle Smith's two couture evening gowns by Michael Cinco, Louis Pangilinan's creations on Miss Universe Great Britain Emma Collingridge, Miss Universe Malta Jade Cini, and Miss Universe Honduras Rose Meléndez, to the winning national costume of Miss Universe Nigeria Maristella Okpala designed by Kennedy Jhon Gasper, here's enough reason to prove once again that Filipino talent is truly word-class.

Miss Universe The Bahamas Chantel O’Brian
Golden like the sun, Chantel dominates the Miss Universe stage in a golden fringed evening gown by Chantel O’Brian of The Bahamas. Each glass bead on this dress is hand-stitched to create a natural flow.
Miss Universe Great Britain Emma Collingridge
Louis Pangilinan was inspired to create an evening gown that symbolizes courage and femme power for Emma. The silver evening gown fits like a glove! There's truly no better way to make a woman feel special than with a one of a kind evening gown.
Miss Universe Honduras Rose Meléndez
Also by Louis Pangilinan, Rose's evening gown was created to honor her heritage. Hand-embellished with beads, crystals, and sequins, this dress was made to represent the Garifuna people.
Miss Universe Kenya Roshanara Ebrahim
Like a Phoenix rising from the flames, Roshanara's emerald green ensemble symbolizes her journey towards becoming Kenya's representative for the Miss Universe. Every single rhinestone visible on this dress was hand-embellished by Jian Lasala himself!
Miss Universe Malta Jade Cini
Pageant veteran Jade Cini chose Louis Pangilinan to design his evening gown for the preliminaries. The one-shoulder gown features a sensual ombre of blues and whites that resemble the clear blue water and the blue lagoon in Comino, Malta.
Miss Universe Nigeria Maristella Okpala
Maristella took home the special award that recognizes her National Costume as the best in the competition. Designed by Kennedy Jhon Gasper, the three-foot ornate ensemble is inspired by a traditional masquerade celebrated by the southeastern tribe of Nigeria called Mmanwa.
Miss Universe South Africa Lalela Mswane
Lalela went bold and bright with an all-white evening gown by Ezra Santos. The dress features a subtle cut-out design that spans at the center of the dress from the neckline to the hem.
Miss Universe Ukraine Anna Neplyakh
Ryan Pacioles opted to design a faded see-through golden gown for Anna. The ensemble also features a cape that flows with the dress.
Miss Universe USA Elle Smith
Elle chose to wear couture for the evening gown preliminaries and for her final evening gown. Both ensembles were designed by Michael Cinco, a renowned Filipino designer in Dubai! There are no words for these dresses, we're still wonderstruck!
Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez
Beatrice looked like a work of art in her Francis Libiran evening gowns. Her red cutout dress featured a shade of red that could be seen from across the stage. The look perfectly accentuated her armband tattoo, an iconic piece of art on her as well.
For her National Costume, Beatrice went from a blue serpent to a golden lunar dragon thanks to Axel Que. The out of this world ensemble was not only designed but also constructed and engineered to make an impact on stage. This might just be one of the best National Costumes we've seen on the Miss Universe stage.
Beatrice made history as she puts us back in the Top 5 with this golden Pintados-inspired gown by Francis Libiran. It was simple yet it made an unforgettable moment on stage!
